Women’s Interlink Foundation (WIF) is a non-governmental organization established in Kolkata in 1990 by Mrs. Aloka Mitra along with a group of dedicated professionals experienced in various fields of social work. The organization was formally registered in 1992 under the Public Charitable Trusts Act of West Bengal and is recognized under the Income Tax Exemption provisions.

Mrs. Aloka Mitra was honoured by the then President of India, Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma, in 1991 with the National Citizen’s Award in recognition of her outstanding and lifelong contribution to the upliftment and development of women.

Over the years, she received numerous awards and accolades for her unwavering commitment to the empowerment of marginalized women, children, and vulnerable communities, particularly the girl child.
